Jessica Jessica was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz), Germany, but grew up mostly in Amberg. She decided to turn her passion for different cultures and travel her job, working as a flight attendant. Flying the world, she’s delighted to explore the world with all her senses. When not in the air, her sewing machine keeps her busy. She also enjoys any form of art and the creative process.

Tom Tom was born in Boulder, Colorado, and that’s about as consistent as he gets when trying to pin down “where he’s from”. Stateside, he’s lived in the North, South, East, and West; overseas, Italy and Germany (with stints in Iraq and Afghanistan). All the travel helps him satisfy his love for history (and keeps his passport interesting). Somehow, between all his 80+ hours of work a week, he finds time to absorb the most trivial bits of info, earning him the nickname “Google”.

Our Story It was a Sunday evening (November 4th 2012 to be exact) when Tom and Jessica met for the first time in Amberg, Germany. Jessica just came back from a New York flight and was having an “anti-jetlag coffee” with a friend. Tom just got back from a month-long field exercise and was out with a few friends. After a little help from his wingmen (Joy and Michael) planning a little con game, Tom managed to get Jessica to come over. If you want to call it that it may just have been love at first sight. Although Jessica had enough with men and didn’t want to jump into anything again, Tom stayed very persistent, trying to convince her otherwise and took her to Paris a couple weeks later. Well, rather she took him via her airline. And, how could you resist the magic of Paris?? So, off they went to begin what would be a lifelong journey.After Tom just wouldn’t leave her apartment for the next 8 months (note: she had working internet, he didn’t), her beloved 60 m² place became too small, too quickly. They decided to find a place together right before Tom was going to leave for a 9-month deployment to Afghanistan. During this time there were many up and downs between the two… letters and packages sent… emails exchanged and vain Skype attempts amongst sleepless nights and missing the other one endlessly. But somehow they got through it all and got used to living with each other again. In August 2014, Tom got a Job in Wiesbaden, and the couple decided to move across Germany to Mainz, where they currently reside. For Jessica, it was more convenient anyway with the airport being 25 minutes away.

Proposal On November 8th 2014, Tom popped the question of questions during a weekend trip to Paris. While Jessica thought it was a stand-by flight and all last minute. Tom had it all planned out. He asked his friend Markus to take pictures of the Proposal at Sacre-Coeur, to later have the Photos as a gift to Jessica on the wedding day. Markus was so busy hiding so Jessica wouldn’t see him beforehand that he and Tom ended up loosing eye contact within the crowd of tourists. Tom, running out of time and a hungry girlfriend who wanted to eat breakfast, finally asked the question in a little park right next to the church with the Eiffel Tower in the backround. She said YES! The three of them ended up having a wonderful, fun day running around Paris taking the most amazing Engagement pictures (thank you Markus!). That night, Tom had another surprise waiting for Jessica: Tickets to the Moulin Rouge! She felt incredibly lucky (note: his bank account didn’t!).

Civil Ceremony/Reception

27 May at 1000

The happy couple will exchange vows at 1000 in the Kleiner Rathaussaal in the Amberg Marktplatz. Afterwards, celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. with a glass of champagne on the beautiful Marktplatz.

Post-reception, we'll host a casual lunch at the Winkler Bräu Wirt.

CHURCH CEREMONY

28 May at 1230

Please join us for the wedding ceremony at Mariahilfberg. Be aware that there will be another wedding just prior tours. Please remain outside until the church is free. At 1230, watch the wedding of the year as the beautiful couple ties the knot.

RECEPTION

28 May at 1500

After the ceremony, please join us at the Innovision Center for the Champagne Reception. After that, stick around for amazing food, great drinks, and dancing throughout the night. After all the food and booze are consumed, and you can dance no more, transportation will be available to take you back to Amberg.

HONEYMOON

The couple will cap everything off with a 10-day honeymoon to Veligandu Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives!
